Lawyers to boycott courts today

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) on Wednesday resolved to boycott courts on Thursday to condemn the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka, and draw the Centre’s attention to the issue. It also criticised the killing of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lanka. The advocates would take out a procession to Raj Bhavan and present a memorandum to the Governor. The association appealed to advocates to boycott courts on October 17 and undertake a fast. — Special Correspondent
