Run to celebrate Rajyotsava

Chitradurga: The State Government will organise Rajyotsava Run on November 1 as a part of Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in five districts, Bangalore, Bellary, Chitradurga, Shimoga and Dharwad. The best 80 participants would be given special training to participate in the next Olympics, a release said.

The running competitions would be held in four categories: a three-km suvarna ota for people who are 50 and above; five-km kasturi ota; five-km sambhrama ota and ten-km gandhada ota is open for all. Competition for men and women would be held separately. Winners will get cash prizes. The run will start at 6:30 a. m. from district stadium.Interested from across the State can participate.

Assistant Commissioner T. Venkatesh said that the event will be jointly organised by Triple Tree Exhibitions and Sports Private Ltd. and the Department of Sports and Youth Services.
