TDP wins project committee polls

Dowlaiswaram: Godavari Eastern, Central Delta Project Committee posts were bagged by Telugu Desam Party unanimously on Friday. Announcing this K.V.S.L.N. Raju, Superintendent Engineer, Irrigation Circle of Dowlaiswaram said there were 25 Distributary Committees for which elections were already held and TDP won the majority committees.
Of the 25 member, 19 were present at Friday’s elections. As there was no opposition all the posts were declared elected unanimously.
From Mandapeta Distributary Committee, Reddy Brahmana Chowdary was elected president and from Allavaram Distributary Satti Venkataratnam elected vice-president.
TDP took these elections as prestigious and it is confident that it will win both the top posts.
The elections were postponed twice earlier.
