GADAG: A Central team, which visited Gadag district on Friday to assess the drought situation, will submit its report to the Union Government within ten days. The team visited the drought affected villages of Harlapur, Halligudi and Timmapur, and other villages in Mudaragi and Gadag taluks. The head of the team, Sanjiv Gupta, Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation said that the team had obtained statistics on the drought situation from the Deputy Commissioner. Earlier, Mr. Sriraman told the team that crops worth Rs. 94.14 crore had been lost because of the drought.
