COIMBATORE: The Hindu Young World painting competition will be conducted in Coimbatore on November 30. It will be conducted at 14 centres. On November 29, at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, and on November 30, at Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Madurai and Tiruchirapalli. As in the previous years, there is no entry fee or entry form for participating. Those interested (both juniors – from Standards IV to VII, and seniors – from Standards VIII to X) have to send their drawings (for the preliminary round) to the centres that are nearest to their place of residence or to the centre where they would like to come for the finals. TopicsThe topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are: “Sports day,” “In the zoo,” “Flying kites,” “Birthday party.” For the senior category: “Watching a stage play,” “On a hill station,” “Bandh/strike day,” and “Environment day.” The preliminary round entries should reach all centres by November 3. All those selected for the finals will be sent individual letters containing details about the venue of the competition and timing.
