Mr. Gulzarilal Nanda, Union Minister for Labour and Planning, inaugurating an All-India Yoga Health Seminar at the Industrial Training Institute camp grounds in New Delhi, said on October 18 that practice of yogic asans immensely helped to prevent disease and maintain a high degree of positive health. Yogic asans occupied a pre-eminent position in this field, not simply on the authority of old texts but on the strength of the recent and current experience and testimony of lakhs of people who have derived real benefit from the practice of asans, he added.
