Shop owner questioned

Staff Reporter

Kozhikode: The Kozhikode Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department Special Investigation Group III on Tuesday interrogated A. Jagadeesh, owner of the wholesale firecracker shop, Kerala Stationery Mart, in connection with the further investigation into the case of the major fire on the Moideen Palli road, linking the Sweet Meat Street here in April last year.

Crime Branch sleuths led by the Superintendent of Police T.M. Aboobacker questioned him and recorded his statement.

This was the second time the investigating agency recording the statement of Jagadeesh, who was earlier named an accused for storing a large quantity of firecrackers in his shop during the Vishu season. However, he told the police that he had not stored more than the capacity permitted by the authorities.
