Chitradurga: H.S. Satyanarayan Rao, Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) said that no incident of attack on churches has been reported in the past few days. However, police personnel were still being deployed at churches and christian prayer halls and the deployment would continue till normalcy was restored. Speaking to presspersons after the Police Commemoration Day programme here on Tuesday, he said that in connection with attacks on churches in Davangere, the police had booked cases against 18 people under Section 107 of Indian Penal Code. Besides this, one case of alleged forcible conversion had been booked. Mr. Rao said that the Police Department was taking all steps to ensure that such incidents did not recur.
