Final photo electoral rolls released

NAMAKKAL: The final photo electoral rolls (after delimitation) for all the six assembly constituencies in Namakkal district were published on Monday.
The district administration received 1,33,861 forms for inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address in the electoral rolls during the summary revision carried out with qualifying date as January 1, 2008. Election officials took up a door to door exercise to verify the claims in the forms. A total of 75,788 forms seeking inclusion of names in the electoral rolls were accepted and 66,714 voters were removed from the rolls.
According to the final rolls, the six assembly segments in the district have 10,13,203 voters including 5,06,979 women. The Namakkal segment has the maximum number of voters (1,79,135). The number of voters in other constituencies are: Rasipuram 1,71,250, Senthamangalam 1,76,532, Paramathivelur 1,69,357, Tiruchengode 1,61,333 and Komarapalayam 1,55,596.
The final rolls were kept for public view at all the revenue divisional offices, taluk offices, local bodies, post offices and polling stations.
Collector U. Sagayam, in a release, asked the voters to verify the details in the electoral rolls.
