K. Palanisami

COIMBATORE: K. Palanisami, Director, Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies (CARDS), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been appointed Director, Water Policy Programme of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

According to a university release, he will work in the South Asia office of the IWMI in Hyderabad.

IWMI plays a key role in water policy impacts since future irrigation investment depends upon how the policy would influence them. It is also involved in capacity building and dissemination.

The release added that Mr. Palanisami had been selected because of his experience in water management research and developmental issues.

He had been part of a team of experts to prepare the “Water Master Plant” for the Abu Dhabi Government of the United Arab Emirates.
