Ishani in ‘Keka’. Film: Keka Cast: Raja, Ishani Direction: Teja Director Teja’s films if not entertaining are at least worth some kind of attention. But in this movie he doesn’t do anything impressive and neither does he manage to bring anything unique to the love story. He introduces writer Seetarama Sastry’s son Raja as the hero and Ishani. Sujata (Ishani) falls almost instantly in love with Arjun (Raja) but the former’s marriage is fixed with Arjun’s best friend Kiran (Anoop). The loose ends begin right from the beginning itself, the heroine who is shown as bold and brazen strangely lacks courage to tell her people or her would-be that she is already in love. Kiran pretends to be a best friend and the end is about how the lead pair sees through Kiran’s designs and unites happily ever after. The dialogues and lines that the trio throw at each other is something one must have seen or heard a zillion times before. ‘Keka’ doesn’t say anything beyond the romantic surface, there are no tender moments, no evocative feelings but just recitation of dialogues on love and friendship. The story is outdated, but technically, the camera scores over the content and there is nothing fresh about the music. Y.SUNITA CHOWDHARY
