HYDERABAD: Actor-turned-politician and Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi on Thursday evening called on producer-director and former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) here and spent about half an hour enquiring after his health.

Mr. Rao was admitted to hospital for a problem that was diagnosed as ‘gall stone induced pancreatitis’. Hospital sources said doctors began draining out pus from the gall bladder. Once this was done, the former Union Minister will undergo a surgery.

Mr. Chiranjeevi was accompanied by wife Surekha and brother-in-law and film producer Allu Aravind.

CPI Secretary K. Narayana also called on Mr. Rao.
