TNEB employee assaulted, robbed

Tirupur: Elangovan (38), a lineman with Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, was robbed at Tirupur-Kundatam road on Thursday.
The robbers took away his motorbike, jewellery and cell phone worth a total of Rs 60,000.
Attack
The police said Elangovan was on his way back to his office after attending some repair in the distribution line when a woman stopped him on the pretext of asking directions.
While he was talking to her, three persons who had been hiding behind a bush hit him with an iron rod and escaped with the valuables.
Elangovan has been hospitalised with head injuries.
