Boy gulps down chemical powder, dies

HYDERABAD: A two-year-old boy who gulped chemical powder by mistake in an Anganwadi centre at Mominpet in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday, died while undergoing treatment at Niloufer Hospital on Thursday.

U. Pavan Kumar, resident of Saitlapur village in Ranga Reddy district, was playing when he noticed the powder in a bowl and gulped it down, while his mother Sattemma was attending a meeting with other workers. After the child started vomiting, she shifted him to the hospital where he died.
