SALEM: The right approach and good administration in industrial units will bring in innovations leading to manufacturing of more new products for export promotion, Sagoserve Managing Director Har Sahay Meena has said. Speaking at the annual general body meeting of Salem Productivity Council held here recently, he called upon the entrepreneurs to pay more attention to producing export-oriented goods. India’s exports continue to be low. Concerted efforts were needed to export more products from the country. Tamil Nadu, he said, has a good potential in sectors such as agriculture, chemical and engineering for production of goods which have huge demand in international markets. Entrepreneurs should be imparted proper training through experts who have vast knowledge in marketing of products with high export potential, he added. He also wanted changes in the higher education syllabi, which would help produce technical manpower with skills matching the requirements of the industry. Small scale industries, which play a major role in manufacturing products used in daily life, were not getting adequate number of skilled workers, he pointed out. Educational institutions should focus on producing more skilled personnel, which would enable Indian industries to compete in the international market.
