Tamil Nadu boys and girls enter finals

Chennai: Both the boys and girls teams from Tamil Nadu entered their finals of the Mini National volleyball championships in Narsapur, Andhra Pradesh.

The boys’ team received a walk-over from Uttar Pradesh in the Friday’s semifinals.

The girls’ team defeated West Bengal in five sets in its semifinals on Thursday.

The results:

Boys (Semifinals): TN w/o UP; Karnataka bt West Bengal 23-25, 25-11, 25-13.

Quarterfinals: TN bt Rajasthan 25-11, 25-15, 25-10; UP bt Haryana 25-17, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13; Karnataka bt Manipur 22-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21; West Bengal bt J&K 25-18, 25-18, 25-15.

Girls (semifinals): Rajasthan bt Kerala 25-11, 25-13, 25-17; TN bt West Bengal 22-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-9.

Quarterfinals: Rajasthan bt AP 25-18, 25-11, 25-10; Kerala bt Karnataka 23-25, 18-25, 25-12, 25-23, 16-14; TN bt Maharashtra 25-11, 26-24, 25-17; West Bengal bt Haryana 25-10, 25-15, 25-9. — Sports Reporter
