Cuttack: The Challenger Trophy might be seen as an opportunity for players to impress national selectors but for ODI regular Rohit Sharma, the tournament is just another assignment where he has to contribute towards his team India Red’s success. “I am here at the Challengers ... and my role is to do well for India Red. Then we have our Ranji campaign. I am here to do my job. I am not looking at the selectors whether I am in the national team or not,” he said when asked whether he is expecting to be retained in the India ODI team for the England series. His dreamProdded further, Rohit said any cricketer would dream of making it to the national team and he is no different. “Challenger is undoubtedly the premier Indian tournament which gives a platform to the ultimate destination — Indian team. “It’s equally important for young, fringe and experienced players. It gives you an opportunity to perform among the best of India. So it means a lot to me as well,” said Rohit. — PTI
