UGC team visit: An expert team from the University Grants Commission (UGC) visited the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit on Friday to assess the financial requirements of the university for the 11th Five Year Plan. The team, led by P.T. Chande, vice chancellor of Kavikulaguru Kalidasa Viswavidyalaya, held discussions with teachers, students and non-teaching members of the university. Members of the team also visited various departments.

The team will hold discussions on the academic and administrative initiatives made by the university during the last one year. UGC had granted the 12-B status to the Sanskrit university in 2005. The status helped the institution in getting Central assistance for various projects.

University and Employment Guidance Bureau will offer coaching programme for the National Eligibility Test. The programme will be held on the main campus at Kalady. More details can be had over phone: 94460 12165.

Sargapadham, an inter-collegiate literary event, was conducted by the Sacred Heart College. Students from 17 colleges across the State participated. U.C. College at Aluva won the best all rounder team award and Assumption College, Changanassery, was the runner-up.
