Idukki: The government on Saturday issued eviction notice to Kannan Devan Hill Produce Company Limited at Munnar in the district, which is controlled by Tata Tea, for the 120 acres of land found to be encroached by them. Officials said 90 acres of land was found encroached by the company in Chokkanad, 21 acres in Pallivasal and six acres in Parvathimala. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan had recently visited some of the encroached lands in Munnar and had declared that efforts would be taken to recover the lands. — PTI
