Volvo Race officials visit port

KOCHI: Knut Frostad, chief executive officer, Volvo Ocean Race, visited the Kochi port on Tuesday to review the arrangements being made at the Race Village for the Volvo Ocean Race India Stopover, scheduled between December 3 and 13. Mr. Frostad was accompanied by Jeremy Troughton, director of operations and Allison Crook, events manager of Volvo Event Management, the United Kingdom.

Talks held

The team held talks with N. Ramachandran, chairman of Cochin Port Trust, deputy chairman Subhash Kumar, various heads of departments of the Port Trust, representatives of the Yachting Association of India, event management and marketing teams. The Volvo Ocean Race officials also visited the Race Village area, technical area of the race teams, berthing area of the race yachts and the building where the race offices and media centre are being set up, said a pressnote here.
