PALAKKAD: The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) will organise competitions in Carnatic music on November 1 and 2 at the M.D. Ramanathan Hall at the Chembai Memorial Music College. The competitions are in veena, mridangom and violin at junior and senior levels. Those in the age group of 8 to 13 years will be in the junior section and those between the age of 14 and 18 will be in the senior section. Applications should be sent to A.R. Venkateswaran, Sreekrishna, Kalvakulam Road, Koppam, Palakkad-1. They can also contact him over phone (0491-2544952), the DTPC authorities here said. —Staff Reporter
