Focus on Harry

CHENNAI: A wide-open UCAL National road racing championship for two-wheelers will culminate in its fifth and final round at the Madras Motor Race Track this coming weekend.

Apart from the Moped class — already decided in favour of K. Umesh Babu — all other categories are yet to identify the final winners. In the expert category, Harry Sylvester leads in the Group D four-stroke 165 cc class with 95 points. He is followed by K. Rajini with 86 points. Rajini himself heads the table in the Group B four-stroke 165 cc category with 88 points, while K. Vinodh leads the Group B four-stroke 260 cc class with 83 points.

The spotlight would also be focussed on veteran riders from Team ANYA — Sriskandarajah and T.K. Vishwanath —who stormed up rousing wins in the previous two rounds of the expert class foreign bikes.

The schedule for the extended weekend includes unfinished races from Round-4 on Friday, followed by qualifying sessions for Round-5 on Saturday. The main races are slated for Sunday.
