Rupesh Roy in semifinals

NEW DELHI: Rupesh Roy bounced back from a bad start to get past the third-seeded Aqeel Khan of Pakistan 0-6, 6-1, 7-6(4) in the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament in Lahore on Wednesday. The other Indian in the quarterfinals, B. Vikram Reddy lost 6-4, 6-2 to Patrick Taubert of Germany.

In doubles, Rupesh and Hyun-Soo Lim of Korea beat Syrym Abdukhalikov of Kazakhstan and Mikhail Vasiliev of Russia 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals. The fourth-seeded Aqeel Khan and Sunil Kumar defeated 6-2, 6-2 victory over Maniel Bains of Britain and Alexei Filenkov of Russia.
