New wage pact for PSU staff sought

Plea for new wage agreement for employees of public sector undertakings was made by the Indian National Metal Workers’ Federation. The old agreement expired in January 2007. The new agreement should be for a period of five years, said general secretary of the federation Rajasekhara Mantri.

He attended a meeting of the federation held in Patna where resolutions with the above demands were adopted. The other demands included increase of PF amount from the present 12 per cent to 15 per cent and gratuity from 15 days to one month. The ceiling for this also should be raised to Rs.10 lakhs.
