TIRUNELVELI: The State Government has released Rs.2 lakh to a widow, whose husband and two daughters drowned in the river. In a statement, Collector G. Prakash said Ammaiyappan of Cheranmahadevi and his daughters Karthika and Rajalakshmi drowned in Tamirabharani when they crossed the river. Since the wife of the deceased, A. Athilakshmi is living in poverty, the government released an exgratia of Rs. 2 lakh to her, he said.
