Government yet to respond to builders’ plea

Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Builders’ Association of India Karnataka (Bangalore) Centre will celebrate Builder’s Day on Friday. On the eve of the association’s 28th anniversary celebrations here, chairman of the association A. Chamaraja Reddy and honorary secretary M. Ramesh said that the State Government is yet to respond to the proposals sent to it by the association.

The association had made an appeal to the State Government to allot 10 acres of land for setting up a training centre in the vicinity of Bangalore to provide quality training to skilled and unskilled workers involved in construction activities.

“This proposal is pending with the Government for the past 10 years,” Mr. Reddy said.

Mr. Ramesh said that the association had established a trust — Builders’ Association of India Construction Academy and Research Trust (BAICART).

“An institute with structured course curriculum and committed staff will make a difference. Hence, we have been urging the authorities concerned to allot land for the institute,” Mr. Ramesh said.
