Language lab opened at school

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The need for setting up a language lab in schools to enhance students’ communication skills in English was stressed by V. Ramachandran, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

He was speaking after inaugurating a Linguaphone language lab at the senior secondary school in Kodunganoor on Thursday.

The lab will train children in vocabulary, expression, grammar and pronunciation without the assistance of a teacher, he said.

Mr. Ramachandran inaugurated the lab by handing over a software kit of Lotus Linguaphone Spoken English to P.S. Vijayakumar, principal of the school.

The lab is meant for students from Class V to VIII.
