Three alleged auto-lifters held

NEW DELHI: Three alleged auto-lifters have been arrested at Shalimar Bagh here. The police claim to have recovered 11 cars and three motorcycles from them.

Acting on a tip-off that Deepak Kumar, who was involved in several auto-theft cases, would pass by Shalimar Bagh on October 24, the police laid a trap and intercepted a Maruti car in which he was travelling. The vehicle was found stolen from Prashant Vihar.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he used to dispose of stolen vehicles at Charkhi Dadri and Kharkhoda in Haryana and Bulandshahr and Khurja in Uttar Pradesh. At his instance, the police arrested his accomplice Aditya. Raids were mounted at Charkhi Dadri and Kharkhoda area of Haryana and the alleged receiver of stolen property Aashish was arrested.
