Woman found murdered

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old woman was found murdered under highly mysterious circumstances in her house at Nangloi here on Wednesday. Her father has accused her husband and father-in-law of torturing her for dowry.

The body of Anju was found around 6-30 p.m. Her throat had been slit with a meat-chopper. Anju had married property dealer Sanjit Singh, who also runs a school, around four years ago and the couple has a two-year-old daughter.

Sanjit purportedly told the police that he discovered his wife’s body when he returned home from work in the evening. However, Anju’s father Satyavan Singh alleged that she was being harassed for dowry.

The police have registered a murder case. Mr. Singh works with the External Affairs Ministry.
