District-level selection today for sportswomen

VELLORE: The district-level selection to select sportswomen to represent Vellore district in the state-level selection for the national women’s festival sports meet would be held for group-1 (basketball, handball and table tennis), group-2 (kho-kho, kabaddi and volleyball) and group-3 (relay, hockey and shuttle) at the Government Nethaji Stadium at 9.30 a.m. on November 1.

All interested women including school and college students and non-students, irrespective of their age, could participate in the selection contests.

No daily allowance or travelling allowance would be given to such participants, says a release from H. Peter Chandran Rajapandian, District Sports Officer, Vellore.

Those who won the district-level selection contest would be elated to the venue of the state-level selection contests, and those who are selected in the state-level events would be transported to the venue of the national-level sports meet.

The state-level selection contest for group-2 would be held at the Government Nethaji Stadium here at 9.30 a.m. on November 3.
