18 lakh pensions sanctioned in State, says Minister

25000 pensioners to get Rs 6 crores per month in Kadiyam

Physically-challenged to get Rs 500 from December


Kadiyam (East Godavari): Minister for Excise Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao has said that in the third phase of Indiramma Sambaralu the State Government has sanctioned 18 lakh pensions throughout the state and East Godavari got 2 lakh out of it.

Participating in Indiramma Sambaralu at Kadiyam on Friday, he said that necessary steps have been taken to pay the pension on 1st of every month. In Kadiyam constituency, 6700 pensioners used to get Rs.5 lakhs per month as pension. Now 25000 pensioners are going to get Rs 6 crores per month as pension.

Kandula Durgesh, MLC, who attended this function said that Government was fulfilling all the promises made to the people and the welfare schemes were getting overwhelming response from the public. The scheme like Rajiv Arogyasri had become ideal, with even the Opposition appreciating it.

M. Mohan Raju, DRO, said that district administration was making every effort to give house sites, houses and pensions to those eligible in the district.

Ch Kumara Swami, PD, DRDA said that the physically-challenged would be given pension of Rs 500 from December. M. Jithendra, RDO, Rajahmundry said that house sites would be given to the poor after settling the court cases in the mandal. He further said that the process of conversion of pink cards to white ration cards would start within the next 15 days in the mandal. He cautioned the people to make entries of births and deaths to settle legal matters easily and to give priority to literacy.

In this connection Minister handed over the pensions to 1817 beneficiaries and house sanction orders to 1425 beneficiaries of Jegurupadu,Vemagiri and Madhavarayudu palem villages.

Byrraju Prasada Raju, Chairman, Zilla Grandalaya samstha, K.Satya Bharathi, MPP, Kadiyam, D.Veera Bhadraiah, ZPTC, M.Jyothi, PD, DWMA attended the function.
