Letters to the Editor
Viswanathan Anand, the legendary chess master, has been on success streaks ever since he made his foray into the brain-churning game. The recent resounding, scintillating and emphatic win against Vladimir Kramnik in Bonn has been well fought. Anand is a player with an indomitable spirit, ability and agility to bounce back against odds. R. Sampath, Chennai Anand has proved that he could win in any format of competition against the toughest of challengers. His consistency and mastery over chess spanning 25 years of his career displayed a tremendous resilience and perseverance. The game has seen a string of grandmasters silently emerging in India since the advent of Anand. His quest for excellence and exploring new challenges has made him one of the most admired sporting icons in India. Anand’s winning the world championship title again has certainly pushed the advertisers to look beyond the world of cricket. Narayan B. Iyer, Mumbai
