Nothing fresh about this film
Glamour quotient: Naveen and Aarti Khaitan.
Film: One (Telugu)
Cast: Vadde Naveen, Aarti Khaitan
Direction: Krishna Teja
Vadde Naveen is back after a long time and this time in a completely action-oriented role. He plays Pardhu, an IPS officer, who goes about cleansing evils in the society. Dandapani, who is a real estate dealer and a don, finds him a stumbling block in his nefarious activities and with the help of Jeeva, a police official, has him suspended.
The villain’s son stabs Pardhu’s friend, a journalist and Pardhu in turn kills him. The story doesn’t end there, Swati (Aarti Khaitan)who is Pardhu’s fiancée is kidnapped and he finds himself entangled in a web created by the goon. What happens is something very predictable.
Though the first half is racy, there is nothing fresh in the script that makes you sit through the climax. Vadde Naveen makes a sincere account of himself but an oft repeated story like this hardly helps him in making a mark. Aarti Khaitan looks okay, she plays a very insignificant part in the film, just filling the gaps with some duets. The co-incidences look ridiculous especially, Pardhu’s mother and Swati knowing each other before and the revelation that the journalist and Swati are siblings.
Sangeeta plays Naveen’s mother, Sutthi Velu appears in a brief role as an anguished father whose daughter has been raped. Kondavalasa and Krishna Baghwan hardly elicit any humour. The director presumes that a simple theft can make people laugh. Post interval, the movie drags. Choreography is repetitive and cinematography is patchy. Action scenes, however, are deftly handled.
