HYDERABAD: The ninth edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz 2008 for schoolchildren will be held in Hyderabad on November 10. The venue for the event is Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, MCH complex, Sarojini Devi Road, Secunderabad. The quiz will also be held in Chennai, Puducherry, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Bangalore, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam will host the All India Final on November 13. In Hyderabad, it will being at 11.00 am and the teams have to report by 10.15 am. As usual, there will be a written preliminary round at each centre to select the six teams for the regional finals, both of which will be held on the same day. The winning team from each region will be eligible to participate in the final. A large number of prizes will be awarded at every stage and certificates given to all the participants. Any two students, from Classes 6 to 9, can form a team. Each school can send a maximum of three teams using the entry cards already sent. Completed entry cards may be sent to the Regional General Manager, The Hindu, Hyderabad – 500 016 on or before November 3. Further details can be had on: 040 – 23403902.
