VISAKHAPATNAM: General secretary of East Coast Railway Shramik Union Ch. Gandhi submitted a memorandum to Chairman of Railway Board K.C. Jena here on Friday highlighting a host of issues. Additional general secretary of the union D. Shaleel said that they demanded filling of the 12,000 vacancies and immediate release of Group-D selections that were held a year and half ago. The memorandum also highlighted the rectification of anomalies in the Sixth Pay Commission, liberal attitude in consideration of compassionate appointments, regularisation of licensed porters as track men, implementation of safety related VRS, absorption of catering and cash-and-pay office staff, normalisation of working hours of reservation offices at Visakhapatnam.
