PATIALA: The Mehak Cultural Forum lifetime achievement awards have been conferred on Patiala Division Commissioner S. K. Ahluwalia and the Grand Old Man of Punjabi theatre, Pran Sabharwal. The awards, consisting of a memento, a shawl, a replica of the Golden Temple and bouquets, were given away by Punjab PWD Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa at a special felicitation session of the Forum’s Singing Contest at the Central State Library auditorium here. Mr. Dhindsa lauded the Foundation president, Dr. Naresh Raj, and secretary Rajan Naroola for valuing the award winners’ exemplary services to society, theatre and arts. He also announced a grant of Rs. 50,000 for the Forum.
