Army recruitment rally from Nov. 4

BERHAMPUR: An Army recruitment rally to enrol candidates will be held at Berhampur stadium from November 4 to 9.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Col J. P.Srivastava, director of the Army Recruitment office, Gopalpur Military Station, said this recruitment rally was an aim to root out all doubts regarding transparency, fairness and rectitude during Army recruitments.

Eligibility

The enrolments would be in the categories of soldier tradesman, general duty, nursing assistant, technical, and clerk/store keeper technical.

For the posts of soldier nursing assistant and soldier technical candidates from all districts of Orissa would be eligible to attend the recruitment camp. But for the other posts only candidates from Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nowrangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Ganjam and Gajapati districts would be eligible.

Candidates were advised to contact the Army Recruiting Office, Gopalpur, to clarify doubts. Those who have passed higher secondary examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English would be eligible for the Soldier (Technical) post.

The students who have studied physics, chemistry, biology and English would be eligible for the Nursing Assistant posts.

Sportsmen who have participated in state and national level meets and NCC certificate holders would get preferential bonus marks during the selection procedure. Candidates having O+ level computer certificates issued by DOEACC would get some bonus marks during the selection.

Col Srivastava cautioned the candidates against falling prey to touts.
