CHANDIGARH: The Empowered Committee of the Union Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 67 new road projects worth Rs.372 crore under the Bharat Nirman Scheme for Haryana and all these roads would be completed by December-end next year, Haryana PWD Minister Ajay Singh Yadav announced here on Saturday. He said about 700 kilometres of roads would be widened and strengthened and one new road would be constructed to connect Dabkoli Khurd village in Karnal district. He also thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for taking a keen interest in sanctioning these schemes. Haryana, he said, was the only State in the country which had achieved more than 70 per cent of the Bharat Nirman project target.
