Staff Reporter

KOLKATA:The 14th Kolkata Film Festival, from November 10 to 17, will usher in an eight-day cinematic extravaganza for the city film-buffs with a large array of both international and national films.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee announced the forthcoming event in a press conference here on Saturday and also released the list of films to be screened at the festival this year. This year the festival will pay centenary tribute to the renowned French director Jacques Tati and four of his masterpieces – The Big Day, Mosiure Hulots Holiday, My Uncle and Play Time – will be showcased. A special segment of Satyajit Ray’s favourite Hollywood films as well as Ray’s restored films will be screened.

About 250 films, including short films and documentaries, will be screened at various theatres across the city.
