APSRTC launches annual travel cards

HYDERABAD: The APSRTC has on Saturday launched Concessional Annual Travel (CAT) cards which are valid for two and three years.
While the existing one-year card costs Rs. 200, the two and three years cards cost Rs. 350 and Rs. 450 respectively.
Launching the cards, the RTC Greater Hyderabad, executive director, P.V.D. Jayashankara Prasad said while the one-year card is to be renewed at a cost of Rs 180 per year, those who purchase two and three year cards would save up to Rs. 90 but also save time and energy.
The newly launched cards would also have accident insurance of Rs. 2 lakh now for two and three years depending on the cards validity.
The new cards will be sold at all bus depots and RTC goodwill centres.
New buses
He said eight more new air-conditioned buses would be operated by month-end.
The city bus fleet would also be augmented by included 300 new buses, shortly, he said.
Meanwhile, a new automated Public Information System (PIS) began functioning in Rathifile city bus terminal from Saturday.
The system announces timings and frequency of buses on the 29 routes operated from the terminal.
