44 bus passengers injured

TIRUCHI: Forty four bus passengers were injured in an accident involving two private buses at Adhavathur Sandhai near Somarasampet in the district on Saturday.

One of the buses was on its way to Kovilur from Tiruchi when it dashed against a Thuraiyur-bound bus from Palayam.

The accident happened when the driver of the Thuraiyur-bound bus tried to avoid hitting a cow.

The drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to the K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The Somarasampet police have registered a case.
