DA arrears for State employees

HYDERABAD: Dearness Allowance arrears from July 1, 2008 will be paid to the State government employees at the rate of 6.594 per cent. The arrears for the period July – October will be deposited in the GPF accounts of the employees and paid in cash from November 1 as agreed earlier.

Finance Minister K. Rosaiah told reporters here on Saturday that this decision will cost the exchequer an amount of Rs. 77 crore a month. He said the government had increased the DA by 6.594 per cent in tune with the Government of India’s decision and in pursuance of the practice of matching the salaries with the price index.
