The two Left parties, which are known for their principles and discipline -- CPI and CPI (M) – are seen joining hands with every other regional parties like TDP, TRS, Nava Telangana Party and others with only one aim, that is to defeat the Congress in Andhra Pradesh.

The CPI and CPI (M) unabashedly state that other states were formed without their consent and the same can be with the formation of Telangana, which the said two parties are opposing. It seems Communist parties are heading towards extinction. This is a sad period in their history .

Distribute milk among poor

Thousands of litres of milk are used for performing abhishekam to Lord Siva during Kartika Masam. I appeal to all Siva temple authorities and priests to collect the milk neatly from Siva Ksheerabhishekam performed by them and distribute it to the poor. The area of Siva lingam should be kept hygienic for this purpose of serving a social cause.

Erect statue of V.J. Gupta

Great philanthropist Vinnakota Jagannatha Gupta was the first to be nominated to Parliament and he was also MLA and MLC during the composite Madras State. He was born at the Gosha Hospital in the old city and it is a pity that the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has not erected a statue of this great son of soil, although statues for many others find place on beach road. I appeal to the authorities concerned to erect a statue of V.J. Gupta.

Non-stop bus needed

There is need to introduce non-stop buses between Bobbili and Vizianagaram . The buses on this route are always overcrowded . A non-stop bus would be a great convenience as it would reduce overloading of other buses on the same route.

Smoking in public places continues

One month has passed since the ban on smoking in public places is imposed, the offence is still being committed by many with impunity. Those addicted to smoking are unabashedly indulging in it in public places.

The Government had not specified as to who would book the offenders.

Therefore, effective surveillance is needed to implement the ban. Further, the Government in general and the Ministry of Health in particular, should make it a point to give wide publicity through electronic media, cinema halls and hoardings in public places.
