‘Akhand Path’ ends

Staff Correspondent

BIDAR: “Akhand Path”, 48-hour recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, ended on Sunday at a marquee (pandal) erected near Gurudwara of Saheb Singhji close to Sri Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib here.

The completion of recitation of Guru Granth Sahib brought down curtains on the Gur-ta-Gaddi celebrations.

The recitation began on Friday at 1.15 p.m. and continued till Sunday afternoon. 51 members recited the Guru Granth. The recitation was organised as part of the tercentenary celebrations of consecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal Guru of the Sikh community.

The president of Sri Guru Nanak Prabandhak Committee of Bidar, Balbir Singh, told The Hindu on Sunday that “Akhand Path” by 51 members was held in Bidar for the first time.
