Thali and mattelu sponsored by the TTD given to the couples Collector, officials give away new clothes to couples on the occasion SANGAREDDY: The fourth phase of Kalyanamastu was performed here on Sunday in a traditional manner at the TTD Kalyanamandapam at Sangareddy. Ninety-three pairs were married in nine out of the 10 Assembly constituencies. Priests who came from Tirupati organised the marriage ceremony. Two pairs from the tribal village Datsigadda came to Sangareddy and got married. At Sangareddy, Collector Peehyush Kumar blessed 25 couples. MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy presented ‘couple cards’ being offered by the RTC for the travel of couple for four days. Joint Collector Ram Shankar Naik, RDO Mrityunjayam and others attended the programme. Vedic mantrasNIZAMABAD: Hundred and thirty-six couples got married at the TTD Kalyanamandapams in Nizamabad, Bodhan, Kamareddy, Banswada, Jukkal, Yellareddy, Dichpally, Balkonda and Armoor Assembly constituencies of the district on Sunday. Attending the mass marriages function here, district Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu blessed the newly wedded couples. The marriages were performed as per the Hindu tradition amid the chanting of Veda mantras by purohits. The Collector and other officials later gave away new clothes to the new couples. A mass feast was conducted on the occasion. KARIMNAGAR: The TTD authorities performed a record number of 683 marriages in various parts of Karimnagar district. About 42 marriages were performed in Karimnagar town, and a record number of 165 marriages were performed in Manthani town. In Karimnagar town, Minister for Endowments J. Ratnakara Rao participated as chief guest and distributed ‘thali’, ‘mattelu’ to the couples. Collector Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Karimnagar Mayor D. Shankar, market committee chairman Y. Sunil Rao and others were also present. NALGONDA: More than 1,000 youngsters got married across Nalgonda district. Collector M. Purushottam Reddy said in a press release that 549 mass marriages were performed in 12 constituencies. Along with the local MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Collector took part in the mass weddings at the Venkateswara Swamy temple in Miryalaguda town. As many as 122 marriages were performed in Miryalaguda alone. It was followed by Suryapet (76), Devarakonda (70), Kodad (61), Alair (53), Chalakurthy (43), Nalgonda (34), Nakrekal (30), Tungaturthy (21), Ramannapet (17) and Bhongir (10).
