BJP faults Moily’s remarks on Telangana
HYDERABAD: State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya said here on Sunday that Congress leader Veerappa Moily’s remarks that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would make an announcement on Telangana before the elections exposed the party’s ‘political bankruptcy’.
He told a press conference that Mr. Moily’s statement clearly showed that the Congress lacked sincerity on Statehood for Telangana although all parties favoured it. The Congress high command was obviously acting as per Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s wishes, rather than those of people. Introducing the Bill in the next session of Parliament would suffice and there was no need for any announcement by Ms. Gandhi, he added.
