Welfare: George C. Francis, DIGP, Range Headquarters, lighting the lamp to inaugurate Family Welfare Day-2008 at the CRPF Group Centre, Pallipuram. Thiruvananthapuram: The Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Pallipuram, organised a Family Welfare Day on Monday to ascertain the welfare and well-being of widows and dependents of CRPF personnel from Kerala who retired from service or laid down their lives in the line of duty. The function was aimed at ensuring speedy payment of dues to the dependents of jawans and to explain eligible welfare measures. Thirty-five dependents and 31 retired personnel from various parts of the State participated in the function. George C. Francis, Deputy Inspector General, Range Headquarters, CRPF, Pallipuram presided over the function. A large number of serving officers and their families turned up for the event. T. Sekar, DIG, Group Centre, Pallipuram assured the participants that efforts would be made to settle their grievances speedily. He added that the department was keen on settling their legitimate dues. The grievances of widows and dependents of slain jawans were registered. The function concluded with a community feast.
