College’s Eco Club organises study tour
Correspondent
It is aimed at knowing the status of Godavari basin
Bhimavaram: Modernisation of flood banks and quarrying of sand on scientific lines are the need of the hour, according to students of K.G.R.L. College.
The students, who are also members of the Eco Club in the college, were on a study tour recently to study the status of the Godavari basin.
Unscientific sand quarrying, specially between Vijjeswaram and Polavaram, would lead to breaching of flood banks, the students felt. M. Satyanarayana, an expert on environmental issues, was the chief organiser of the tour.
The students also took out a rally highlighting the need to protect environment. VV. Prasad, associate professor of MHRM wing of the college, and others participated.
