He wins the award ‘Trend Setter for Nurseries in India’. Kadiyapu Lanka (East Godavari): The State Government gave free power to horticulture farmers like Kadiam nursery farmers on a par with other small farmers, said Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju. Speaking at a felicitation function of Palla Venkanna on the eve of getting National Award "Trend Setter for Nurseries in India", the Minister released GO. of free power to nurseries on the dais. The Sir Arthur Cotton Nurserymen Growers Welfare Association arranged for this felicitation. Ministers Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao, Gollapalli Surya Rao, MLAs Pamula Rajeswari, Thota Gopalakrishna, Pendem Dorababu, MLC N. Sesha Reddy, Cinema Director Mutyala Subbaiah and actor LB Sriram, among others, attended. The speakers said that being physically challenged, Venkkanna took life as a challenge and he was the first person to grow nurseries in Kadiyapu Lanka area. LB Sriram said he know about Venkanna’s commitment. Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi, AICC member, said that last 40 years no plant and flower lover had left East Godavari district without visiting Kadiyapu Lanka. Thota Gopalakrishna, MLA, said only because of Palla Venkanna this area got identity. Venkanna responding to felicitation, said that he would try to guide students and future farmers.
