Thiruvananthapuram: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president P.K. Krishnadas has warned of an ‘Amarnath-type agitation’ if the government does not end its ‘indifference’ towards the Hindu community and Sabarimala. Mr. Krishnadas was inaugurating a satyagraha organised by the party in front of the head office of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) here on Monday demanding better facilities at Sabarimala. He called upon the Chief Minister to visit Sabarimala to make an assessment of the facilities there. He said various departments had received payments for providing adequate basic facilities for the pilgrims. But no development was taking place. Destroying templesThe TDB was trying to destroy and not protect temples including the one at Sabarimala, he added. The former Union Minister, O. Rajagopal, who addressed the satyagrahis said he suspected that the pilgrimage, by thousands of people, was troubling certain sections. The members of the TDB were cutting a ridiculous figure before the public, he said.
